Administrative HistoryThis school was founded as Coppenhall National School in 1843 and at first was held in the rectory barn. It moved to new premises in Broad Street in 1862, and became a board school in 1873 on the formation of Church Coppenhall school Board. In 1883 the girls and infants moved to a new school in Broad Street leaving the boys in the original building. In 1920 this building became the infants school, and the building of 1883 became a mixed school. This became a junior school in 1932 when the senior pupils were transferred to a new senior school. The junior school closed in 1972 on the opening of Church Coppenhall County Junior School. The school closed in 2006 and transferred to Oakefield Primary on a newly expanded site in Holland Street, Crewe. The school became St Michael's Community Academy in 2013.
